Most of the time, we find the food fresh and tasty. As a matter of fact, we have been visiting this establishment for approximately 20 years. (Before Hurricane Ike, we and my in-laws had signed a plank upstairs with our shared wedding anniversary date inside of a heart.) This has been a special place for us. In the last 10+ years, we have brought every field trip here for lunch with 60+ students each trip too. Never had a student complaint either. Our visit on September the 2nd was the 1st disappointing meal we have ever gotten there. It wasn't awful, it was just a terrible letdown. The fries seemed overcooked and dry and my fish sandwich was VERY overcooked. I don't know if the cook was just tired or the food was just precooked and sitting out too long. However, the manager was incredibly helpful. We were tired and halfway through our meal when he came to check on us and didn't get to hear what he wanted to hear. But he did an incredible job of making it right while delivering food to multiple tables, checking on staff, and serving others. Because of that manager, we WILL return to give our "The Spot" another chance.
Going here more into looking for the view. The seafood platter was fresh i think it was around $25 if I'm not wrong. i have been eating here several times especially the one in Galveston. Always order their SHRIMP PO BOY and their burger #topnotch The service is average because the place is quite packed and mostly self service, we are too busy enjoying the view anyway.
Had lunch at The Spot. What a cool place. It’s on the waterfront so get an outside table on the waterside. Great view of the Galveston Beach. We ordered Coconut Shrimp and the mash burger. The meals were awesome. The onion rings are to die for. Frozen margaritas were perfect for the occasion. Several different specialties all in one location.
Loved everything about The Spot! Stopped in while visiting Galveston and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was fun and lively with awesome beach views. The food was delicious everything came out fresh and flavorful! Ordered baja tacos and jumbo fish platter! The staff was friendly and the service was quick, even though they were busy. Perfect place to relax, eat, and enjoy the island vibe from the roof top area! Definitely coming back next time I’m in Galveston!
What a cool "Spot" 5 venues in one spot. Restuarant, tequila bar, rum bar, vodka/gin bar, and a tiki bar. We had fried pickles, chips and queso, and the Diablo shrimp. All fantastic. If the vibe isn't yours in this bar, go to that one. Parking is easy. 3 hours validated parking in the garage. We will come back again for sure.
This place was hopping. My son got a smash burger that was really good and my daughter got the kid sliders. I got the seafood platter and it was an overkill of fried everything. The fish tacos my wife got were pretty good. We sat next to the window overlooking the beach. It was loud and chaotic. But fun.
This was one of the best meals that I've had down here in Galveston. I love the unique vibe of this restaurant on the open rooftop patio. I got the Citrus snapper and I have to say that the key lime butter sauce was stunning and really made that dish. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture of it until I was halfway through.
